George Woodley studied at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Honours in Statistics, in 1980. After four years of experience as a Programmer for an insurance company in Toronto, Canada, he shifted into the manufacturing area.

   

His first exposure to products and processes was in implementing a statistical process control system for the W.C. Wood Co. in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Subsequent S.P.C. programs were also developed for Diemaco (1984) Inc., a defense industry company; for Chicopee Manufacturing, an aerospace component manufacturer; and Automation Tooling Systems, a tier one supplier to Ford Motor Company.

   

It was with Ford Motor Company, in 1996, where Mr. Woodley was hired on as a trainer/facilitator in the problem-solving arena. His focus was on training Ford engineers and suppliers in the Global 8 Discipline process. This also involved follow-up facilitation.

   

Other technical courses that Mr. Woodley became certified in included Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Reliability, Process Control Methods and Design of Experiment. In February 2000, he was asked to become an instructor in the Six Sigma program. Mr. Woodley was certified as a Master Trainer/Lead Instructor for the Six Sigma Black Belt Train-the-Trainer program, offered by Ford Motor Company, and has done extensive teaching and facilitation in North America, South America and England for FMC. He has worked on projects for various divisions of Ford and its suppliers.

   

Other major clients include Motorola, Washington Mutual and R.R. Donnelley, to name a few. Mr. Woodley has conducted various Black Belt training courses for companies such as American Super Conductor and Quality & Productivity Solutions.

     

George is an American Society for Quality Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, a certified Master Black Belt.

   


    

Over 18 years of experience in Design, Reliability, Manufacturing Support, and Quality Engineering.

Managed the Quality Engineering team at CASE Corp. which trained over 500 managers & engineers in topics such as mistake proofing, FMEA, process capability analysis, advanced quality planning, and identifying critical characteristics. Also, responsible for the plan which deployed Robust Design methodology to 300+ product engineers.

Had lead role in the company-wide deployment of Six Sigma at CNH covering 10+ countries and delivering $30M in the first 2-1/2 years. CNH’s first certified MBB. Responsibilities included training and technical guidance worldwide to the Champions and Black Belts on topics such as project selection, process methodology, and proper use of statistical and quality tools, across the Agricultural Equipment, Construction Equipment, and Capital business units. 

Involved with training and project support for over 600 Black and Green Belts, from such companies as: CNH, Xerox, Bayer, FMC, EPCOS, Abbott Labs, AT&T, Microsoft, ATK, Fifth Third Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Rockwell Collins, Republic Engineered Products, Shepherd Chemical. 

For certified projects, Client savings have averaged over $450K per Black Belt, and $200K per Green Belt project.
